I sure the presenter was related to the carpetbagger they used for the wetlands setback removed. he was from the other coast, no creditably and certainly no moral compass. I watch the presentation and the presenter said they would be doing away with housing types and one of the commissioners even asked why are you doing away with housing types. So I will go watch it again, but I’m pretty sure that’s what I heard and saw.
This is bad government. To do away with housing types and just base impact fees on square footage makes no sense. How does square footage correlate to impact? If 30 acres have 30 homes the impact is much less than if that same 30 acres has 300 apartments. And the next item cancels traffic studies. And the next item ignores school concurrency requirements and doesn’t even miss a beat when talking about 115% capacity.

I’m not sure I’m following. The fee schedule has been, and will continue to be, based on housing types. It’s per unit and then per sf. There are separate categories for single family, multifamily, mobile home and assisted living. Each of those categories as then further scaled based on individual unit size. So, 30 acres with 300 units would have much higher impact and fees than the development with 30 homes.
There are two teams running for office in Manatee County.. TEAM A and TEAM B
Team A - #proManateeteam - made up of Independents, Republicans and Democrats. ASK if they support the rollback of wetland protections from 50 to 25 feet so developers can fit more houses with pools on previously undeveloped land and farms. - Will they vote to reverse this decision?
Team B #proDeveloper/ Culture War team / voted against clean water when they rescinded the wetlands from 50 to 25 feet or probably would. Ask them about the issues.
